How to Use a Kitchen Bar
Posted June 2021
If you’ve never heard of a kitchen bar, you aren’t the only one. Sustainability is an ever-important characteristic to consumers and removing unnecessary water from everyday products just makes sense. Inspired by our foundation of creating innovative personal care products using little to no water, Bradford decided it was time for something new. That’s why we’ve formulated our signature kitchen bar. Think of this bar as a dish soap in a solid format, formulated with lemon oil to help cut through grime, and aloe vera to soften your hands. The natural, vegan formulation is tough on grease and gentle on the environment. Unlike liquids, the concentrated formulation means no excess water, no plastic bottles, and no unnecessary waste. Using a kitchen bar is an easy 3-step process:
Get yourself a firm sponge, scouring pad, or draining soap dish. Having the right platform allows the bar to air out after each use properly. Keeping your bar free of moisture is key to its longevity. A non-slip surface is best since it prevents the bar from sliding around while you use it.
Gently rub your dishwashing sponge on the kitchen bar. Use the kitchen bar as you would any other dish soap: with a sponge or washcloth. This will create a nice lather, is gentle on your kitchenware, and influences a longer lifespan of the bar. Wet your sponge or washcloth and rub it across the surface of the bar to pick up some of the cleanser. Then apply it to your dishes just like you would a liquid. This method is more efficient than rubbing the bar directly on your dishes because it prevents the bar from becoming too soft over time. It will also remain mess-free while your dishes become sparkling clean.
Lather, rinse and repeat. The best thing about our kitchen bar is that it is good for the environment, and it works! The vehicle is different, but the solid grease-fighting power is the same, if not better.
On top of reducing plastic and water waste, an additional benefit of switching to a kitchen bar is simple organization and visual appeal. There is no need for the clutter of plastic bottles and other accessories flooding your sink area. Not only that but the formula was designed with zero-streaking in mind. Bradford’s Vice President of Marketing, Deb McDonough, tested the uplifting lemon scented bar in her own home for several weeks before the launch of the product, saying “I have used it on dishes with lots of grease and even clear glass. I was amazed that there was no haze left behind on the glass.”
