Spring and summer are the perfect months to consider dipping into some new and energetic bar soaps and other skincare products. With younger generations’ love for solid format cleansers on the rise, they are also looking for fun ingredients that perk the senses. According to marketing research leader Mintel, coming out of the pandemic, “consumers want excitement, leading them to seek products that entice emotions or provide a sensorial experience (Mintel, Soap, Bath, and Shower Products – US – 2022).”

Aromatherapeutic bar soaps can not only amplify the sensory experience but can also provide skin health benefits. Below are just a few of our favorite spring skincare ingredients and some suggestions for incredible products.

Mango Butter

Mango butter’s mild and fruity scent makes it an excellent option for those who want added skincare benefits with a subdued aromatic experience. Mango butter is perfect for people who are sensitive to intense aromas. This super ingredient is packed in
vitamins C and E, which can help protect your skin from outside irritants and moisturize and soften your skin.

Citrus

Like mango butter, and as many people know, citrus contains an abundance of vitamin C. Therefore, on top of emitting refreshing scents, citruses like grapefruit and orange are considered anti-aging powerhouse ingredients for skincare. Citrus fruits also contain an abundance of antioxidants that neutralize free radicals and protect skin again UV ray damage. Citrus oils and rinds are an excellent choice for bar soap due to their indulgent scents and exfoliating properties.

The best citrus aromatherapeutic cleanser:
Doterra Citrus Bliss Bath Bar

Green Tea

Green tea’s popularity has grown exponentially in the last decade. It is well known for its health benefits when ingested regularly. More recently, we have seen that green tea can also benefit our skin. A
2018 study has shown that a naturally occurring polyphenolic compound abundant in green tea has many beneficial properties, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial. Alongside these vast skincare benefits, green tea contains a pleasant aroma that simultaneously soothes and energizes.

The rejuvenated cleanser we love most:
Method Daily Zen Bar Soap

Honeysuckle

Nothing says “spring” like the essence of honeysuckle. Honeysuckle extract has long been used in Chinese medicine due to its pleasant scent and anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. As aromatherapy, it can reduce stress levels. In a cleanser such as a soap bar, honeysuckle can help maintain a healthy pH balance due to its very low
EWG rating.
